According to Avenue Calgary’s ninth annual survey, a community is considered a great place to live based on accessibility to parks and pathways; the number of restaurants, cafes and bars nearby; low crime numbers; walkability scores and engaged neighbours.
Did you know that there are more than 180 residential neighbourhoods in Calgary? If you think about it most of us know the areas we live in, where we work and where our friends and family live. This survey helps us find out so much more about Calgary’s best neighbourhoods by giving insight into our city’s variety.
There are many great places to live across Calgary. From the inner city to the city limits, from the small to the large neighbourhoods and from ones with mountain views to those by the river.
This data-driven survey reveals what the average Calgarian resident is looking for, but what makes a neighbourhood unique to each and every one of us might be something entirely different and personal.
Nevertheless, there are a few standards and characteristics that make a neighbourhood desirable and would place it in Calgary’s Best Neighbourhoods list.
